Nursery Ideas

Well nesting is an unstatement. I feel like we have sooo much to do to get ready for the baby and so little time! Anywho ... I have been trying to figure out how to do the baby's room and this is what I have come up with. I want to do something a little different then the usual nursery themes and decor. So here is what I have so far. It is mostly pieces but think it will come together well. The crib is well the crib, the dresser to match is on it's way. I am going to have Adam build a changing station in the smaller of the two closest and will take the bifold doors off replacing them with a drape that pulls to one side. The material I think I am going to use for it is the cowboy pattern you can see in the pictures. I will also use the fabric for accent pillows and such. The curtains I am going to do in a rough tan or brown material, still looking to decide on exactly what I want. The chair in the picture is being reupholstered with the cowhide in the pictures. It is more for decoration; the glider will probably stay in our bedroom at least for now. I will also use the cowhide for pillows or something b/c it is so cool looking and expensive even for a remnant. I will probably paint the walls a slate/blue gray like the one on the cowboy fabric. It is a work in progress for now.

24 Weeks and Counting

Well we went to the doctor yesterday for my monthly appointment and everything is going good. I have gained 6 pounds in 4 weeks which is more then last month but I partly blame Christmas and New Years for the extra 2 lbs. I am still within the 1 to 2 lbs a week so I guess it is not too bad. We did not get to have a sonogram this time but did get to hear the baby's heart beat and which was beating at about 144 beats per minute. So all and all there is no major developments. I found the crib I wanted on sale so I have ordered it. It is probably actually ready for pick-up but I need to call and find out. Adam still needs to get some of our furniture taken to storage at his mom's before we will have room for it. I am starting to feel overwhelmed as showers start to get scheduled, furniture is getting ordered it feels like my list of things to get done is growing longer and longer each day! Oh and I found out today my car needs $1,500 worth of work done to it. YAH! That includes $500 to replace my spark plugs and wires because you have to take the top of the engine off to get down to them:) Not thrilled but I guess if I am going to keep my car a while it has to be done. I know now why people like trading cars every 3 or 4 years!
